Class Info & Etiquette
Samasta Wellness & Yoga is a SCENT FREE space. Please do not wear perfume or scented products to yoga.
First Class - Please arrive 15 minutes early to go over the health questionnaire and waiver.
What is available:
· A variety of props including blocks, bolsters and straps are available for use
· Samasta does have mats to borrow for class time.
· There may also be some props and mats that are for sale.
What to bring:
· Dress comfortably
· If you own a mat, strap or block you should bring them.
· A cozy blanket for savasana (relaxation pose)
· Water in a leak proof container
A Few Yoga Etiquette Tips:
· Arrive at least 5 mins before classes to have time to get settled so classes can start on schedule
· Power off your cell phone once you arrive at the yoga space, please.
· Late arrivals interrupt class. If you do arrive a couple minutes late please come in as silently as possible.
· If you know you will have to leave early, let me know beforehand. Sit near the door and try to leave at a good time in the flow of
the class i.e. before the start of savasana
· Arrive fragrance free. We practice closely to one another and scents can be very troublesome for others.
· As others arrive, be welcoming and make space for them.
· If crossing over another’s mat, try to avoid stepping on it.
ALWAYS feel free to ask for assistance during your class. If you have longer questions that relate to your individual practice, do not hesitate to approach me after class. If I do not know the answers, I will do my very best to find them.
If there is anything that makes you uncomfortable in yoga space, please bring it to my attention.
If you are looking to purchase yoga supplies, please feel free to inquire. I will bring in products by request if I have enough interest to place an order.
Namaste
This saluation is often offered at the beginning of class and always offered at it's closing; it is customary to return the salutation. I offer Namaste as a salutation and gesture of gratitude and respect toward you. It is also offered in gratitude to my teachers who have shared their knowledge and practice with me.
Nama means "bow" and ste means "you". Therefore the literal translation is I bow to you.
The gesture is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another, that we are all one when we live from the heart.
